Building a Volunteer Community

Building a volunteer community means bringing together a multifaceted, culturally diverse group of people with different backgrounds and experiences, to unite in the common belief that working together they can make a difference in their neighborhoods, their communities, their state and their nation.

Volunteers are the life blood of the Citizen Corps movement nationwide and also on a local level. The Tulsa Citizen Corps works hard to make sure people who volunteer their time, skills and resources in various organizations have a positive experience. It is our goal that involvement in Citizen Corps will provide each volunteer not only with practical training and service opportunities which evolve into rewarding experiences, but also with meaningful friendships and connections that will continue beyond Citizen Corps.
