A group of CERT and Medical Reserve Corps volunteers took the opportunity to get their NIMS (National Incident Management System) certification at a class taught by the Yulsa Fire Dept.'s Homeland Security Chief, Dennis Beyer.

YWCA North Center members celebrated completion of their Safe & Secure program training on January 12, 2005.
050115 - January 15, 2005 - Fellowship Lutheran Church Graduation
The church Youth Group participated in a mitigation project and received the Together We Prepare training. They are 7th and 8th graders.
050126 - January 26th, 2005 - THRC Tabletop Exercise
The Tulsa Human Response Coalition held its second tabletop exercise at Family & Children’s Services in January, with over 50 community organizations participating.

050223 - February 23, 2005 - Mayor's Celebrity Basketball Challenge
The Mayor and his talented team of fire, police and public works personnel took on Tulsa’s local media personalities in a fantastic fundraiser for Tulsa Partners, Inc in February.
050317 - March 17, 2005 - Long Term Care Facility Disaster Management
A first-of-its-kind disaster management workshop for long-term care facilities was held on March 17 at the Tulsa Jewish Community Center. Representatives from nursing homes, assisted living centers, and other healthcare facilities learned the importance of disaster response and contingency planning.
050404 - April 4, 2005 - McReady Oklahoma, Tulsa Kickoff
Alice Roberts Elementary played host to our 2005 McReady Kickoff on April 4. Students enjoyed visits from Ronald McDonald and KOTV-6 meteorologist Dick Faurot.

Members participated in First Aid/CPR/AED, Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) Open For Business COntingency Planning classes.

050510 - May 10, 2005 - Spring Reunion & Nania Awards Dinner
Points of Light Foundation CEO Bob Goodwin delivered the keynote address at the 2005 Spring Reunion at Southern Hills Marriott, May 10. Mr. Goodwin, Oklahoma McDonald’s Owner/Operators, and the American Red Cross-Tulsa Area Chapter received Nania Awards.
050614 - June 14, 2005 - 2nd Annual Flag Day Event
The First Lutheran Church hosted our 2nd annual Flag Day Event on June 14. This year’s focus was on Safe & Secure Seniors!
050714 - July 14, 2005 - Operation Firework Fanfare
Close to 90 Citizen Corps members served as clinic volunteers for the Tulsa City-County Health Department’s “Operation Firework Fanfare” mass immunization/prophylaxis exercise on July 14 at the Tulsa County Fairgrounds.
050920 - September 20, 2005 - Annual Meeting
Ms. Claudia Gordon served as the keynote speaker for the Tulsa Partners, Inc./Mayor’s Citizen Corps Annual Meeting, held at the Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges in September. Gordon is part of the Dept. of Homeland Security’s Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, and works directly with the disability community on issues of disaster preparedness.
050930 - September 2005 - Camp Gruber Deployment
Close to 1500 evacuees from Hurricane Katrina were housed at Camp Gruber near Muskogee, Oklahoma. For over a month, Citizen Corps volunteers supported the Red Cross’ mass care and shelter operations on-site.
051021 - October 21, 2005 - Barge Trip
Seventy-five members of Citizen Corps and Tulsa Partners enjoyed a beautiful October evening aboard a barge as it traveled along the Port of Catoosa on the Arkansas River. Bob Portis, director of the Port, provided an educational talk along the way.
051026 - October 26, 2005 - Flu Clinics
The Tulsa City-County Health Department’s October drive-thru and walk-thru flu clinics delivered a record 20,000 free flu shots to the community and enabled health department and Citizen Corps volunteers to practice their mass immunization procedures.
060817 - Special Needs Shelter Exercise
The Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps, along with the OK-1 DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team), Tulsa Area Emergency Management Agency, Tulsa City-County Health Department and Tulsa Metropolitan Medical Response System held a special needs shelter exercise Thursday-Saturday, August 17-19, 2006. The exercise took place at the Tulsa Dream Center, 200 West 46th Street North
